In Conversation With series continues with two more Impact Award winners this May

SSHRC, in partnership with The Conversation Canada, continues its series of public talks—In Conversation With—featuring the winners of SSHRC’s 2021 Impact Awards. 

Join us on May 3 at 2 p.m. (eastern) for “How to integrate gender and race studies in the classroom” with Maïka Sondarjee. Sondarjee is an assistant professor in the School of International Development and Global Studies at the University of Ottawa. A researcher, volunteer, activist and educator, Sondarjee’s work in international development and cooperation have earned her many prizes and accolades, including SSHRC’s 2021 Talent Award.

Join us again on May 25 at 1 p.m. (eastern) for “Ocean economics” with Rashid Sumaila. Sumaila is a professor at the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries and the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs at The University of British Columbia. He has advanced global understanding of a wide range of disciplines, including economics, social inequality, oceanography and climate change. Sumaila’s research achievements and advancements earned him SSHRC’s 2021 Partnership Award.
