October 6, 2023

The College and Community Innovation (CCI) program’s Applied Research Tools and Instruments (ARTI) grants 2023 competition, managed by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, in collaboration with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, is now open.

ARTI grants support the purchase of applied research equipment to foster and enhance the capacity of colleges to undertake applied research projects in partnership with industry, public, not-for-profit and health organizations within their community and to provide training opportunities for students.

ARTI grants are one-year awards, up to $200,000. The 2023 competition has an anticipated $8 million available in funding, as a result of the investment in the CCI program announced in the 2023 federal budget. More information on the allocation of this investment will be shared as it becomes available.

Applications must be submitted via the Convergence Portal by January 16, 2024 before 8:00 pm (Eastern Time). Please read the ARTI grants description for more information. There is a maximum of three applications per institution.
