Date published: March 12, 2024
Today, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) announced the finalists for its 2024 Storytellers Challenge.
The annual challenge asks postsecondary students across the country to inspire audiences with a compelling research story—in up to 300 words or three minutes—demonstrating how SSHRC-funded research is making a difference in the lives of Canadians.
Their research stories involve topics that are important to Canadians and have wide-reaching impacts in our communities across the country.
The finalists receive $3,000 and a chance to be named a Final Five winner. The Final Five winners will be announced at the Science Writers and Communicators of Canada (SWCC) conference on Monday, May 6, 2024, in Saskatoon, following the annual Storytellers Showcase, where the finalists will be judged based on their live storytelling skills. Each Final Five winner will receive an additional $1,000.
